How to scale the same offer across multiple ad accounts

The White Rabbit (TWR) works the same with one domain or with fifty: repeating the same address across accounts changes nothing in the filtering. Isolating domains, one per ad account, is a scaling best practice of the traffic sources. And which domain has to multiply depends on your campaign's delivery method.

Isolating domains is not a TWR requirement

On the tool's side, it makes no difference. A single domain can serve fifty ad accounts: the campaign is the same, the parameters are the same, and the filtering behaves exactly the same. TWR sets no limit here.

The recommendation comes from the traffic sources. When you scale an offer across several accounts or several BMs, each account should advertise its own domain, for three reasons:

  • Sources connect accounts through the advertised address. The same domain showing up in different accounts is a behavior that can be flagged, and the cost of that falls on the accounts.
  • The domain is a single point of failure. It can be suspended by the registrar over a pending registration detail, or caught by the extension authority's preventive review, as in my domain is down, what should I do. If the same address is in ten accounts, one problem takes all ten offline at once.
  • A repeated domain hands over your whole operation. Anyone spying on an ad starts from the address shown in it. With separate domains, whoever investigates reaches one account, not all of them.

For the same reason, a domain already used in one ad account should not come back in another, not even after pausing or deleting the old campaign. Once advertised, it stays tied to that account.

Splitting by subdomain does not solve it. Advertising sub1.yourdomain.com in one account and sub2.yourdomain.com in another leaves the same root in both, and the root is what most sources look at. Each account needs a different root domain.

You may repeat a domain and nothing happens. Isolating is prevention, not a guarantee. The cost of preventing it is one extra domain.

Find out which domain goes in your ad

The domain that must not repeat across accounts is the one that shows up in the ad. Which one that is depends on the delivery method:

Delivery method

Domain that goes in the ad

What multiplies as you scale

TWR Redirect, Pre Page, or TWR Mirror

The domain registered in TWR, since the campaign URL is generated from it

One domain registered in TWR per account, with a campaign for each

Unpack

The hosting domain where you installed the index.php

One hosting domain per account. In TWR, one domain and one campaign are enough

This applies only to the address that goes in the ad. The Offer Page can stay the same across all accounts.

When in doubt, look at what you paste into the ad: if it is a URL generated by TWR, you are in the first case; if it is an address on your hosting, you are on Unpack. Each method is detailed in understand TWR's delivery methods.

Scaling with TWR Redirect, Pre Page, or TWR Mirror

In these methods, the URL that goes in the ad is generated from the domain you registered in TWR. There is no second address to vary, so every new account needs a new domain registered in the tool:

  1. Connect the domain to TWR, with the CNAME record validated.
  2. Create a campaign on that domain. Every campaign has its own setup, so it is your call: repeat the Safe Page, the Offer Page, and the targeting of the campaign already running, or build it differently for this account. See how to create a campaign.
  3. In that account's ad, use the URL and the parameters this campaign generated.

Each plan includes a number of domains, and you can add extra slots for 2 USD per month under Manage slots:

Scaling with the Unpack method

In the Unpack method there are two domains with different roles. The one registered in TWR only generates the PHP file and never shows up in the ad. The hosting one is where the index.php is installed, and that is the one that goes in the ad.

So here you do not need to multiply anything inside TWR: one registered domain and a single campaign serve all accounts. What gets replicated are the files, on a new domain for each account.

  1. Set up the campaign in TWR once.
  2. Download the generated PHP file. The campaign parameters are the same for every account.
  3. For each new ad account, create a new site on your hosting, with a new domain. This domain is not registered in TWR, and it does not need separate hosting: the same hosting plan takes several sites, each with its own domain.
  4. In that site's public folder, upload the same files as the first account, unchanged. Which files depends on how you entered the pages in the campaign:

How the pages are set in the campaign

What to upload to each new domain

By URL, as in Unpack method: install the campaign on your hosting

Only the index.php

By file, as in Unpack method: install the PHP alongside your pages

The index.php and the Safe Page and Offer Page files

  1. In that account's ad, use that domain's address with the same TWR parameters.

What multiplies is the domain, not the hosting. Each ad account needs its own site, with a different domain, and all these sites can sit on the same hosting plan:

Ad account

Site on your hosting

Address that goes in the ad

Account 1

domain1.com

https://domain1.com

Account 2

domain2.com

https://domain2.com

A new folder inside the same site is not enough for another account: the ad address would keep the same domain.

The accounts' domains live on your hosting, not registered in TWR. That is why scaling accounts on Unpack does not consume your plan's domain slots.

Every domain uses the same index.php. If you ever need a new PHP, for example after changing the campaign's Safe Page, replace index.php on all of them.

Multiple offers in the same ad account

If you are not opening new accounts, but running more offers inside the same one, you need no extra domain. The isolation is per ad account, not per offer:

You want to

Domain

Scale the same offer to another ad account

A different domain for each account

Run another campaign or offer in the same ad account

The same domain works

On Unpack, the same domain serves as many campaigns as you want. For each new campaign, create a folder inside the same site and put in it the index.php TWR generated for that campaign, along with the page files if the campaign uses pages by file. The ad address becomes the domain plus the folder name:

Campaign

Folder on the hosting

Address that goes in the ad

Offer A

offer-a

https://yourdomain.com/offer-a/

Offer B

offer-b

https://yourdomain.com/offer-b/

Each folder works on its own, without interfering with the other, because each index.php belongs to one campaign.

A folder never takes two PHP files. If you have two campaigns, that is two folders, each with its own index.php.

The same goes for the methods that generate a URL: one domain registered in TWR serves as many campaigns as you create, and each campaign generates its own URL.

Checklist before launching one more account

  • A domain exclusive to that account, never used in any other.
  • On Unpack, that domain is the site's domain on your hosting, with its own folder and the same index.php as the structure already running, plus the page files if the campaign uses pages by file.
  • On the other methods, the domain registered in TWR and the campaign created on it.
  • TWR parameters pasted exactly as they were generated.
  • Redirection tested with Test Offer before launching the ad. See how to test if your campaign is set up correctly.
