How to Set Up a Standard Campaign in The White Rabbit

The Standard campaign in The White Rabbit (TWR) is where you set the domain, the safe page, and the offer page that filter your traffic. When you save, TWR generates the URL and parameters ready to paste into your ad, routing each visit through an external link according to the targeting you configure.

Step by step

1. Open the campaigns panel and create a new campaign

In the campaigns panel, click to create a new campaign.

2. Name the campaign and select the domain

Under Name, use whatever label you prefer. Under Domain, select a domain already registered in TWR.

Only the campaign domain needs to be registered in TWR. If you haven't registered one yet, see how to register your domain.

3. Choose the traffic source

Under Traffic source, select the source you're advertising on. The available options vary according to your subscription plan.

4. Configure countries and devices

Select the countries and devices according to your ad's targeting.

The countries and devices you select are the ones allowed through the filter and able to reach the offer page. Keep this setting identical to your ad's targeting.

5. Set the safe page

Enter the safe page URL, shown to unwanted visits (bots, spy tools, and the like).

The safe page must match your ad's topic and comply with your traffic source's policies. A page about a different subject than the ad raises suspicion.

6. Set the offer page

Enter the offer page URL, shown to qualified visits (the potential customers for what you advertise).

Use a different domain for the offer page, separate from the campaign and safe page domain. Isolating the offer makes competitor spying harder.

7. Choose the delivery method

The delivery method defines how a visit is taken from the campaign URL to the safe or offer page. The options vary according to the traffic source.

Method

How it works

TWR Redirect

Standard redirect: the campaign URL leads to the safe or offer page, which then appears in the browser. It's the best known and most compatible.

Pre Page

Shows an optimized screen before the redirect happens.

TWR Mirror

Mirrors the page content on the campaign URL itself, with no URL change. Widely used against spying, because the competitor never reaches your offer's URL.

Unpack

More advanced setup: you install the campaign on your own hosting and the redirect happens from one file to another, instead of from one URL to another.

To understand each redirect in detail, see the delivery methods article. For the Unpack method, there's a dedicated guide.

8. Enable Unique Token and Custom Path (optional)

Unique Token adds a password parameter to the campaign URL parameters, as an extra layer of protection. Custom Path customizes the slug of the generated URL. Both are available depending on the traffic source.

Enable Unique Token whenever available: it's extra protection that requires no additional setup. Custom Path is cosmetic; if you leave it off, TWR generates a random slug.

9. Save and copy the URL with the parameters

Once everything is configured, click Save campaign. TWR generates the URL and parameters you'll use in your ad, already including the Custom Path and Unique Token you set.

10. Add the URL and parameters to your ad

Paste the URL and parameters into your traffic source. Most have a field for the destination URL and another for the URL parameters (sometimes called a tracking template).

  • If you use a tracking tool or your own parameters, concatenate them to the TWR parameters with &, no spaces. The order doesn't matter.
  • When the source has no separate field for parameters, join them to the URL with ?. Both ways work, but prefer the dedicated field when it exists.

Paste the URL and parameters exactly as they were generated. Changing any character can route your traffic incorrectly.

11. Test the campaign before publishing

Open the campaign URL: since TWR flags the visit as suspicious, you land on the safe page. To check the offer page, go back to the campaign and use the Test Offer button. Turn off the test when you're done.

12. Track clicks in real time

With your ad live, use the real-time chart to follow where clicks go: the offer page or the safe page.

Bots that try to access the link are also sent to the safe page, but counted separately, because TWR doesn't charge for their visits.
