How to set up The White Rabbit: complete guide

The White Rabbit (TWR) is a traffic filter that protects your campaigns against competitor spying and bots, showing a safe page to unwanted visitors and your offer page only to qualified traffic. In this guide you'll register a domain, create a campaign, and generate the URL ready to use in your ad.

Before you start

  • Have an active TWR account.
  • Have a domain exclusive to TWR, different from your offer page domain. This keeps your real domain isolated and you don't need to change your current setup.
  • Have the URLs of your offer page and safe page already published.

Step by step

1. Register a domain exclusive to TWR

In the Domains menu, click create. In the Create new domain panel, enter the subdomain you'll use (e.g., www.yourdomain.com). It can be any subdomain, such as www, home, or go. With a single domain you can generate as many links as you want inside the tool.

The panel already shows the CNAME record values you'll create in the next step.

Use a domain exclusive to TWR, never the same domain you already use on your offer page. This way your real domain stays isolated and protected.

2. Create the CNAME record in your DNS panel

In the DNS panel of the provider where you registered the domain, create a new record with the values TWR showed:

Field

Value

Type

CNAME

Name

the subdomain (e.g., www)

Target

connect.domains-twr.com

TTL

keep the default

Save the record in your panel.

If you use Cloudflare, disable the proxy on the record (set it to DNS only, the gray cloud).

3. Validate the domain in TWR

Go back to the TWR panel and click Save domain. TWR checks the pointer automatically. DNS propagation usually takes a few minutes. If it hasn't validated yet, wait and refresh the page.

Once done, the domain appears with the Valid status in the Domains list.

4. Create a new campaign

In the Campaigns menu, click create. In the Basic information section, fill in:

Field

What to enter

Campaign name

a name to identify your campaign

Domain

select the domain you just validated

Traffic source

the source where you'll advertise

Available sources vary based on your plan. The configuration below is the same for all of them.

5. Set countries and devices to match your ad targeting

In the Audience segmentation section, under Device and Country, select exactly the same targeting as your ad. If you advertise to everyone, leave All selected in both fields.

Whatever you uncheck here goes straight to the safe page, without passing through the filter. If you remove a device or country, all traffic from it, including real customers, lands on the safe page. That's why the targeting here must match your ad.

6. Configure the safe page

In the Safe Page section, paste in Safe Page URL the address of the page shown to unwanted visitors (bots, spying tools, competitors). It must:

  • Be 100% within the ad platforms' policies, with no element that could cause rejection.
  • Be consistent with the ad's theme, so it doesn't raise suspicion.

You can connect the safe page to your root domain (on your hosting) while the subdomain points to TWR. This is a recommendation, not a requirement.

7. Configure the offer page

In the Offer Page section, paste in Offer Page URL the real address of your offer, the page shown to qualified traffic. Here you can use the real domain of your offer.

Neither the safe page nor the offer page needs a connection to TWR, only the campaign domain points to it. It's recommended to keep your offer page domain isolated, which increases protection without changing your setup.

8. Choose the delivery method

Under Delivery method, set separately for the safe page and the offer page, you choose how visitors reach each page:

Method

How it works

When to use

TWR Redirect

Standard redirection from one URL to another

Most compatible, works with any type of page. The most used.

Pre Page

Shows an optimized pre-page before the redirection

To improve CPM metrics

TWR Mirror

Mirrors the page content within TWR's own URL, no redirection

Most secure against spying, the spy only sees the TWR domain URL, never the real offer URL

Unpack

Redirects through a PHP file installed on your hosting

When the safe page and offer page are on the same hosting

If you're not sure which to choose, keep the method TWR sets by default for that traffic source.

With TWR Mirror, the page is rendered on the TWR domain, depending on your page structure there may be some incompatibility. When in doubt, run a test and see how it displays.

9. Activate the Unique Token (optional, if your source offers it)

Turn on the Unique Token toggle. It adds a password to the campaign URL parameters, an extra layer of protection.

The Unique Token depends on the traffic source, some sources don't offer this option. If it doesn't appear for you, go on without it; filtering keeps working normally.

10. Customize the URL slug with Custom Path (optional)

Turn on the Custom Path toggle to choose the slug that appears in the campaign URL (e.g., /vsl-01). If you leave it off, TWR generates a random slug. It's cosmetic only, it doesn't affect the filtering logic.

11. Save the campaign and copy the URL and parameters

Click Save campaign. TWR opens the confirmation with two deliverables you'll use in your ad:

  • URL: the campaign link.
  • URL PARAMS: the campaign parameters.

Use the copy buttons and keep both. They must be used exactly as generated.

Any extra or missing character in the URL or parameters breaks the entire filtering. Paste without modifying.

12. Add the URL and parameters to your ads

Where to enter them depends on the traffic source:

  • Sources with a specific field for URL parameters (some call it "tracking template"): paste the URL in the URL field and the parameters in the parameters field.
  • Sources without a specific field: join the parameters to the URL using ?:

    https://your-twr-domain/slug?twr_parameters

If you use a tracking tool, concatenate your parameters with & (their order doesn't matter):

https://your-twr-domain/slug?twr_parameters&your_parameters

13. Monitor requests through the chart

There is no "test" for the redirection: if something can be tested, it can also be broken, so TWR was designed without that test. If you access your own URL, you'll land on the safe page, because you're not accessing it natively through the ad.

To confirm that customers reach the offer page, open the campaign, go to the Charts tab, and monitor in real time:

  • Total requests: the total volume of real accesses processed.
  • Offer page: qualified accesses (your customers).
  • Safe page: unwanted accesses.
  • Bots: counted separately; TWR doesn't charge for them.

Your customers' clicks should show up under Offer page.
