Google VSL Phantom: Invisible Protection for Your Sales Videos on Google Ads

How to Use Google Phantom to Protect Your Videos on Google

The VSL Phantom is a technology specially developed for those who advertise on Google using VSLs (video sales letters).

Unlike other White Rabbit campaign modes, it doesn’t rely on the system’s full standard structure.

Instead, the protection is installed directly into the video player via embed code, ensuring a security layer where it really matters: in the content of your VSL.

This way, only legitimate accesses coming from your ads can watch the offer video, giving you more control and protection — especially against spying, copies, and unwanted traffic.

How to Set Up Your Campaign with Google Phantom

1. Access the White Rabbit dashboard

Go to Campaigns.

2. Create a new campaign

Click the Create button.

3. Choose a name for your campaign

Set a name according to your preference.

4. Select the domain

It must be the same domain where the page hosting the video player with the Phantom script will be installed.

5. Select the traffic source

Choose Google and then VSL Phantom.

6. Set the Safe Script

Embed code of the safe video, shown to unwanted traffic.

7. Set the Offer Script

Embed code of the offer video, shown to legitimate visitors.

8. Authorize the countries

Select the countries you are targeting.

9. Authorize the devices

Select the devices you are targeting.

Enable in Advanced Options to add an extra protection layer.

If you enable this option, you must ensure the generated tok parameter reaches the page with the video player.

If you are using a presell, tracking tools, or any type of redirect before the video player page, configure it properly so the parameter is passed along.

Otherwise, Phantom will only display the safe video.

11. Finalize the campaign

After saving the campaign, the system will generate two items:

Script → install it in the video player of your page.

Tok parameter → add it in the Google Ads Tracking Template.

Using with your own tracking parameters

If you already use tracking parameters, just merge yours with White Rabbit’s.

Example:

trackparameters&tok=1mt2r01u

If you don’t use any other parameter besides the one we generate, simply use the tok without the "&".

Example:

tok=1mt2r01u
